home away from home.

these things take time.
i never really expected it.
or even saw it coming.

like driving in the snow
and losing control.
maybe falling asleep at the wheel,
or just too trashed to make it.
so, you are crashed and snowed in.

oxygen is running low;
and your breathing starts going real slow.
rescue arrives,
you feel so blessed to not be alone.
a home away from a home.

they are warm and safe
and say they won't let you go.

you say that you don't want to let go.
you don't ever want to let go.

and so,
later on you will admit
that you had to crash that crash,
caved in to be saved,
lost and then found,
to find your way back home.
